清幽雅致的香山中学位于浦东新区灵山路德平路口，学校依凭以美立校的办学理念和立美育人的实践精神，依凭德艺一体和谐有序的校园审美文化，依凭全体师生20年携手创业彰显美育特色的坚定信念，成为了上海市首批特色高中实验学校。也成为了众多爱好艺术学子心目中的理想殿堂。
一、学校简史
香山中学于1995年建校，办学已20年，是上海浦东新区教育局管辖的完全中学。学校现有28个班级、1010名学生、102名教职员工，高中部以招收美术特长生为主。历经四任校长，个个睿智实干、坚持走特色办学之路，从美术特色上升到美育特色，从培养学生掌握绘画的一技之长到培养全面发展特色人才，不断优化特色创建定位及策略，引领香山走上了一条特色发展、高品位办学的美育之路。2010年6月，学校被浦东新区人民政府正式命名为区实验性示范性高中，2011年5月被命名为上海市文明单位，学校现为全国特色学校，上海市文明单位，上海市艺术特色学校，上海市首批特色高中实验项目学校，长三角美术教学交流中心理事长单位，上海市人民政府外事办学生美术作品国际交流指定学校。

培养目标：让学生在掌握宽厚学科基础上掌握一门艺术特长，为他们的职业生涯和终生学习打下牢固的基础。同时，以美促德、以美启智、以美健体，提高其审美情趣和人文素养，使之成为全面发展的人。
办学目标：成为一所拥有昂扬的人文精神、优秀的教育质量、鲜明的美育特色、在上海同类学校中具有一定知名度和影响力处于领先地位的市特色高中。
三、办学特色
学校以美育特色为主线，以美术教学为龙头，以学科教学和课程建设为主渠道，以艺术人文环境建设为载体，积极创建艺蕴深深诗意浓浓的校园审美文化。教师们用一堂又一堂生动形象的美育渗透课、一个又一个以情感人的美育实践活动、一门又一门悦心畅神的美育拓展课，来提升学生的审美素养，滋养学生的人文精神，引导学生敏锐地去感悟青春生命中一切美好的东西——日月经天江河行地的博大，立身处世待人接物的中和，一事一物的精微，一科一目的妙理，莫不有美；引导学生回归心性本体的和谐、淳朴、真实、自然的审美观，摈除伪善、荒诞、矫情、扭曲的审美观；引导学生饶有兴趣地认识美、感知美、体验美，意兴盎然地探究美、表现美和创造美，学生的灵魂在美育的潜移默化中陶冶、净化和提升，从而达到了以美促德、以美启智、以美健体的整体成效。
20年来，学校始终把美育课程改革当作特色教育的核心工作，理出一条健全课程构架的总体思路——就是创建以美育为特色的课程体系，以美术特色教学为龙头，以立美课程为载体，以学生职业生涯发展为宗旨，来践行学科立美全面育人的课程理念。
基础型课程的美育渗透——注重挖掘学科内涵美，倡导学科整合美，打造五美课堂，美术组开设3门必修校本课程：素描，速写、水彩。
拓展型课程的美育渗透——已经形成以美育类课程为主兼顾科学类课程的局面，从2006年4门选修课程增加到2015年的雕塑、陶艺制作、浮雕、面具制作、数字媒体与艺术等21门选修校本课程，涉及人文、科技、艺术三大类。
研究型课程的美育渗透——主要开设了“形式美法则探究”、“静物素描”、 “人物速写”、“雕版画”、“ 白描”、“ 油画”等艺术类研究课，兼顾科技类研究课，学生走进安徽查济、走进南浔写生、走进南京感悟古都，开展寻美体美的专题活动，点亮学生品美创美的灵心慧眼。
学校还探索了社团活动的课程化建设，开设了视觉艺术沙龙社团、漫画社、红叶传媒、晓津文学社、莺韵合唱团等12个学生社团，其中视觉艺术沙龙社团被评为浦东新区区级艺术社团，“红叶传媒社团”获得“浦东新区优秀社团”称号。
四、办学成果
学校以口碑、质量、特色吸引艺术特长生，办学水平得到教育界同行和社会大众的广泛好评，在全区、全市产生了很好的示范和辐射作用。20年来，承办和参加的国内国际有影响力的画展共40多次（如承办“上海市——大阪府缔结友好城市25周年高中生绘画展”上海展区展览），承办区级以上的大型美术研讨会议和活动共8次（如2007首届《长三角》美术教学经验交流论坛在我校举行），各大新闻媒体报道香山美育办学特色共12次，学生美术、书法国内国际获奖超过200人次。学校连续三年参加日本大阪府高中生美术作品展（既派学生又送作品），与澳大利亚DULWICH视觉艺术高中，英国ADWARD六世高级中学建立了正常的国际交流关系。近三年来，学校本科录取率一直维持在超过市区两级非实验性示范性高中本科录取率平均数的30个百分点。2015年本科录取率为85%，录取学校覆盖中央美院、中国美院、复旦、交大、同济、华师大等一流名校。

SCHOOL CHARACTERISTICS
The school holds aesthetic education as a main feature. Focusing on art education, the school has built a preeminent aesthetic environment to cultivate a poetic campus culture. With vivid art lessons, extracurricular activities and enrichment courses, students are lead to nourish their taste in art, to develop their humanistic spirit and to feel all the beautiful things in life—the vastness of the universe, the golden mean of social manners, the subtleness of tiny things and the marvelous principles under every subject. We guide students to return to their natural true self and get rid of hypocritical, absurd and twisted values; we guide students to recognize, to feel, and to experience the power of beauty, to cultivate virtue, with art, to enlighten wisdom with art and to establish fitness with art.
In the past 20 years, the school has always regarded the reform of curriculum as a core work. We have come up with a path to perfect our curriculum framework. We use art courses as a medium, orient students toward their career development, in order to build a curriculum system featuring aesthetic education and well-rounded development.
Basic courses focus on digging into the depth both individually and in integration of the three compulsory school-based courses: drawings, sketches and watercolors.
Development courses are of three categories: culture, science and art. Focusing mainly on aesthetic courses while taking science courses into account as well, the selective courses have grown in number from 4 in 2006 to 21 in 2015, covering sculpture, pottery making, relief, mask making, digital media and arts and so on.
Research courses include "Inquiry into Aesthetic Form", "Sketch", "Character Sketches", "Engravings", "Line Drawing", "Oil-painting" and other research courses. Trips are organized to Anhui Cha Chi, Nanxun ancient town and Nanjing the ancient capital, where students participate in special events to look for the beauty of art and get inspiration for new works.
The school’s exploration in the clubs is also successful. There are 12 student clubs including the Visual Art Salon which is awarded “Excellent Art Club” in Pudong New District, the Maple Media which is awarded “Pudong New District Excellent club”, the Comics Club, the Xiaojin Literature Society and the Orioles Chorus.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Attracting art talented students with the reputation and the quality in art education, Xiangshan is also widely acclaimed by education workers and all levels of society. Xiangshan has over 40 times hosted and taken part in world renowned exhibitions such as the 25th Anniversary High School Student Artwork Exhibition honoring the friendship between Shanghai and Osaka. Xiangshan has also hosted 8 large art seminars such as the 2007 inaugural "Yangtze River Delta" Art Education Summit. The school has been reported by public media on specialty in art education for 12 times and more than 200 awards are won by our students in both domestic and international art and calligraphy competitions. Students and their artworks are sent to participate in the Osaka High School Artwork Exhibition for three consecutive years. International Exchange Programs have also been established with Australia Dulwich Visual Arts High School and United Kingdom Adward VI High School. In the past three years, the college enrollment rate has reached 85％, with students admitted to Central Academy of Fine Art, China Academy of Art, Fudan University, Chiao Tung Univeristy and other renowned colleges.
